On Youtube Makeup Gurus ♡ If you live in the 21st century, then you know that makeup gurus on youtube are so in right now! And I have to admit I learned so much from them as well. So this post is about my Top 5 (least-to absolutely adoreee :p) favorite youtube makeup gurus. I hope you can learn from them as much as I did. #5 Marlena of MakeupGeekTV What I personally love about her? Honestly, aside from her beautiful makeup application, it's because I relate to her. How? Let's just say we're both on the really sexy side. haha! What I mean is, like me, she's full-figured. And I love how she doesn't let that get to her in making her and other people feel confident and prettier with makeup. Also, she has her own line of makeup and makeup brushes which I wish could get my hands on. Aside from her youtube channel here's her blog: http://www.makeupgeek.com/ #4 Bubbi of bubzbeauty What I love about her? I actually found her channel because I was looking for hair tutorials. So yes, I really enjoy her hair tutorials and have tried some of them as well. (Just not properly executed as how she did it in her video :p) Her hair tutorials are like those Korean hairstyles that look messy but really work and you always wonder, how in the world did they manage to do that? Lol. When it comes to her makeup tutorials, I love how her looks always look so fresh. Oh, and I also learned a lot from her skincare tutorials. *Sighhh, among all the makeup guru s I follow on youtube, her skin is the one I envy the most Bubz's blog: http://www.bubzbeauty.com/ #3 Jen of frmheadtotoe What I love about her? I like her most for her wearable makeup tutorials. It's like although the look she's doing is dramatic, it's still somehow wearable to everyday events. Also, she caters so much to Asian makeup users like me. I also find myself buying a lot of products she recommends. Jen's blog: http://www.frmheadtotoe.com/ #2 Michelle of MichellePhan What I love about her? Seriously now, if you're truly a makeup lover then you have to know and love Michelle Phan. I know she's not my #1 when it comes to my favorite youtube makeup gurus but hey, she came pretty close. Personally, what I love about her tutorials is not so much on her makeup application but it's more of the trivia on makeup and beauty she always shares in her videos. Also, I love that her videos are not all about makeup tutorials but also on practical ways you can do to restore your makeup, make your makeup last longer, skincare, and ways you can make your makeup the most versatile. Michelle's website: http://www.michellephan.com/ drum-role please.... #1 Jessica Harlow of missjessicaharlow What I love about her? Oh my goodness where do I even begin? Well, first of all she's the first makeup guru I ever discovered on youtube and what can I say? I've been in love with her since then:p When it comes to her makeup application, hers is the one I can relate to the most and it's because if there's one word to describe her makeup, it's GLAMOROUS. And you know I'm a sucker for glamour. But this doesn't mean all her makeup tutorials are on the dramatic side, what I'm pointing at is although she's creating a simple look, she makes sure she still adds a detail to her makeup that makes it stand-out. And honestly, that's how I want my makeup to be too. Also, she's the one whom I most trust when it comes to her reviews on makeup products and I have to say that she's too blame on a lot of the products I buy. Lol. Jesicca Harlow's website: http://www.jessicaharlow.com/ So, there you have my Top 5 Makeup Gurus on Youtube. Remember, this is just MY opinion on who I think is really good as a makeup guru. But yes, I do highly recommend that you visit their channels and see for yourselves. (Oh, and yes, I'm also highly considering on making a channel of my own dedicated to what else? Makeup!) xoxo. ♡ Thursday, January 19, 2012 @ 12:41 AM
New Year; New Makeup to Love. ♡ Another year is upon us and so for my 1st blog entry for the New Year, I'm deciding to blog about the new makeup products I am absolutely in love with. And also 'cause I realized that it's also around New Year last year that I posted a blog about products I love. So it's been a whole year so you can expect a lot of changes in the makeup I now super adore. But of course I still highly recommend the past products I've blogged about. :) So, enough blabbing and here comes the blogging :) (Products are just in random order) 1. Etude House Color My Brows If you knew me personally, you'd know that I've been obsessing over eyebrows for a couple of months now:p I admit it took me a while to perfect doing eyebrows but this little baby helped me so much in creating the perfect full-eyebrows that I want :) What it does: It tints your eyebrow hairs in the colors they come in such as Light Brown (which is the shade I use because it's more close to my hair color) and Rich Brown for a more darker brown shade. Now what I recommend is to fill-in your eyebrows first with either your eyebrow pencil or powder or even eye shadow (which is what I use) and then after that do you lightly apply some of this product on the hairs of your eyebrows. I promise it makes all the difference in the world. :) Here's a picture of me when I first noticed the difference this brow tint does. (I'm using the shade Rich Brown in this picture.) 2. NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme It's no secret that NYX lip products are adored by so many, especially their Round Lipsticks. And I'd have to say that I'm one of these many people that love their Round Lipsticks and I thought I wouldn't go venturing on their other lip products because I was already very happy with their Round Lipsticks. But all this changed when a very good friend of mine made me try her lip creme in the shade Antwerp. And since that faithful day, I've been using it daily. What it does: It's a truly matte lip product with such a rich color. The formula is thick and somehow like lip gloss and when you put in on it applies on sheen but rapidly becomes matte. Additional thing that I love about this product? It smells heavenly! It's like cake batter with a whole lot of Vanilla in it. :) And also, it's no secret that matte lipsticks are in the rave right now. (Shades that I own: Antwerp, Instanbul, and Addis Ababa. Cool names huh?:p) Yours truly wearing the shade Addis Ababa. :) 3. Benefit The POREfessional So I know that my last blog post was about face primers and I already blogged about this product. But now that I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, it quickly moved up to my absolutely, most recommended face primer! What it does: Reduces the appearance of pores and leaves you face feeling and looking smoother for better foundation application. I'm guilty in admitting that this is the 1st Benefit product I've ever used, although I've heard so many good things about their products especially this one. But now that I'm using this, I'd have to say that all the good things they say about it is truer than true! Lol. Also, among the face primers I've tried and also blogged about, this would have to be the one that kept my makeup on the longest. 4. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (Shade I use: Tropper) Being a hardcore eyeliner lover, I've tried and tested so many eyeliners already, may it be liquid, gel, or pencil. When it comes to liquid liners, I thought it would be impossible for me to find a truly waterproof and smudge-proof liquid liner considering that it is liquid. But this eyeliner from Kat Von D literally changed my view and with this I can now say that liquid liners can be liquid-proof! What it does: The special brush tip of this eyeliner helps in creating the kind of eyeliner look that you want and it's really waterproof and smudge-proof. Additional info I'd like to put in about this liquid liner is that because the brush tip is so thin, I can easily line my eyes really close to my lash-line to achieve that natural liner look. :) 5. Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer I'm not really a big concealer fan since the foundation I use already offers the coverage that I want. But I've actually been wanting this concealer since I first learned about it but took some time before I was actually able to get it. And let me just say, it was worth the wait. :) What it does: Being true to its name "Tattoo" concealer, it really does stay-put on your face until you decide to wash it off. Plus, despite the thickness of its texture for the longevity of wearing it, it doesn't cake at all! I use this product mainly under my eyes and it instantly gives me that awake look. And of course I also use it on my blemishes and it truly does the trick of concealing them. If you want the best results of this product, I highly recommend you use its own brush as well. Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer Brush (Isn't its rose details so pretty? Very Kat Von D.) So there you have it, the Top 5 products I'm recently head-over-heels in love with! Believe me when I say that I'm really in love with these products because my friends can testify that I truly can't shut up about these products. :p Oh, if you want to know where I got these products and how much they are just leave a comment on my comment box. :) xoxo. ♡ |
