Beauty Tip # 3: Foundation! Foundation! Foundation! ♥
In my experience with make-up, finding the right kind and shade of foundation that best fits me hasn't been an easy task. The most common problem you may experience with your search for the perfect foundation would probably be that your foundation is too light for you. Well, I've experienced that too. So let me first tackle on helping your with you skin-tone-matching-foundation dilemma!
The solution in looking for a foundation shade that suits you comes in not looking for a lighter shade. It's possible that you didn't exactly mean on buying a shade of foundation that's too light for you, what probably happened is you tested it on your hand and figured it suits your complexion. I know this for I've done the same mistake. Well my advice for this is too stop using your hand! Because first and foremost, your hand is a more or less an entirely different shade than your face. So instead of using your hand, go ahead and try it on your face. But one thing I've truly learned in choosing the best shade of foundation is to not go for a lighter shade of foundation, rather go for a shade that's one shade darker than your complexion. In doing this you most probably will end up with a foundation shade that best suits your complexion. I know I have.
Now for your 2nd dilemma of what foundation to buy..
I'm not exactly a person with access to all the best make-ups in the world. So the brands that I will be advising to are the ones in access to me here in my hometown which is more or less available to you too. Also, these brands aren't exactly on the expensive side[:
Top 1: Revlon's PhotoReady Foundation
Right now, this foundation is my absolute absolute favorite! I love it so much because when you apply it, it will give your face a glowing effect, it gives more depth to your face, and also cheats having an air-brushed look. Also, it conceals blemishes pretty good too. So if you're looking for foundation that can almost make you look flawless and will give you an extra glow, then Revlon's PhotoReady is for you.
Top 2: Maybeline's Clear Smooth Gel Foundation
Now this brand of foundation would be at a more cheaper side but it's also a pretty good foundation. For some reason, when I use this foundation I always get compliments on my skin. So this is probably why this is on my list. lol:p But seriously, Maybeline's Clear Smooth Foundation gives your face more of a powder finish and it stays pretty long on your face. What I also noticed in using this foundation is that it makes the complexion on your face seem lighter without it actually not looking good. It's kind of like the effect glutathione gives your face but only for a few hours.
Top 3: Mary Kay's Medium-Coverage Foundation
Now this brand of foundation isn't necessarily my favorite to use but if the 2 other foundations on this list aren't available, I'd be very much happy to use this one. What I like most about this foundation is that it truly leaves a powder-finish to your face and even eliminates the use of pressed powder or loose powder afterwards, but it still offers good coverage for the face. Also, you would not need to use so much foundation for your face with this one because it easily spreads on your face.
